Community Living
Kreider Services
has 27 group homes located in Dixon, Ashton,
Amboy, Franklin Grove, Stockton, Galena and Rock Falls.
170 people with varying degrees of disability live in these
homes. People who are deaf, blind, and have developmental disabilities
live in the three Rock Falls' homes. In our homes in Dixon and
Amboy, we serve people who are medically fragile or have other
special needs. Capacity ranges from four to sixteen persons
depending on the size of the home. All homes have 24-hour supervision
with staff trained according to standards put forth by the state
of Illinois. Staff helps persons with disabilities live as independently
as possible in comfortable community settings. Areas of training
include learning to take care of physical needs, housekeeping
and laundry, cooking and learning to safely access the community.
We strive not only for community access but also for true community
integration. People with disabilities attend the church of their
choice, take classes and volunteer to help with community organizations.
Our homes undergo surveys from state agencies as well as the
Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
CARF staff survey programs all over the United States to ensure
compliance with established standards of excellence. Kreider
Services, Inc. consistently scores very well on these surveys.
