Our Mission : Individuals With Disabilities
Reaching Their Fullest Potential
Kreider
Services is a non-profit charitable organization providing direct
care programs to people with developmental disabilities. Celebrating
50 years of service to the Sauk Valley area, Kreider Services
serves over 500 individuals and is known throughout the state
of Illinois for its quality programs in the areas of Early Intervention,
Skill Training, Workshop Production, Community Employment, Community
Living, Individual Supports, and Respite services. Kreider Services
high standard of client care is approved by the Commission on
Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
During our most recent CARF survey, conducted in April 2009, we received a three year accreditation with an exclusive “no recommendations” for all program areas. According to Brian Boon, PhD, CARF President/CEO, “This is an extraordinary accomplishment, as only 3 percent of CARF surveys result in no recommendations.” This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded by the international accrediting commission.
The CARF survey team noted dozens of positive strengths within Kreider Services; the following are just a few:
-
The group homes and supported living apartments of persons served are neat, clean, and well organized. Each home provides a warm and welcoming feeling. Staff members have done an excellent job of allowing for personalization in the homes. Community involvement, activities and responsibilities associated with group living are discussed and decided upon as groups based on interest and goals.
- Referral sources and other family members have only high praise for services provided by Kreider Services. A parent of a person served reported that, “services and accommodations are above and beyond any of our expectations.”
- Kreider Services is blessed with well-qualified, dedicated, knowledgeable, caring staff members, with specific expertise focusing on the many different levels of services available to consumers. Staff members believe they are valued and see value in what they are doing.
This latest accreditation continues the series of consecutive three-year accreditation awards received since 1977.
Kreider Services' sister agency,
The Arc of Lee County, is a non-profit organization advocating
for people with disabilities. Through outreach projects in areas
of public relations, education, and governmental affairs, The
Arc lobbies for increased opportunities for individuals. The
link between Kreider Services and The Arc of Lee County creates
a strong partnership for families in the Sauk Valley area. For
